street signs 04 September 2001 - 3:25 p.m. I must be crazy to be thinking about this. But I am. And I’d like to share it. The street signs say: Caution. Watch out for falling debris. Dangerous curve ahead. Slippery when wet. Blind curve. All warnings for bad things that might come. You never see a sign that tells you to look right because you’re about to see a beautiful tree-lined avenue and it’s the time when all of the trees are flowering and showering their orange blossoms on the road. You never see a sign like that. Sure you have signs for tourist spots and national monuments but most of them are just paid advertisements. What about the everyday simple things that are natural and beautiful? We never get warned for that. We’re always warned about the bad things that’s why we always see them. That’s why they’re all we come across. We’re never warned of good things to come, we’re never told to smile because something so much better is coming along the way. Maybe that’s why we seldom see the good stuff in life. Maybe that’s why we’re never really happy. Everything bright and beautiful is already staring us in the face yet we don’t see them because we we’re never told they were there. Isn’t that just sad? feminism is the radical notion that women are people. | rebel girl | I'm all Twystid [ < | rand | all | > ] host |
